Reading recovery

Reading Recovery is an early intervention literacy program designed to reduce the incidence of reading and writing failure.  It involves 30 minutes of daily individual instruction and is a second chance for students, who after one year at school, have the lowest achievements in literacy learning,  Reading Recovery  aims to bring them to the average levels of performance of their classroom peers.  It teaches them how to continue to learn more about reading and writing from their own efforts and aims to have them use those skills in the classroom.

Reading Recovery is supplementary to classroom instruction, and it aims to have children quickly learn to profit from classroom instructed.  Reading Recovery aims to accelerate children's progress in order to have them catch up with the average class levels as quickly as possible.
